The D-Ring on the Beris Butterfly is designed to aid steering, but does not have the cheek pressure that the full cheek bit has. The D-Ring is sometimes used instead of an eggbutt to stop the bit cheeks from slipping into the mouth, when the rider is asking the horse to turn.
The shape of the Beris D-Ring provides a quiet and neutral position in the horse's mouth. The Beris D-Ring Butterfly bit is wonderful for young or inexperienced horses, they receive optimal lateral support and guidance through the rings.
The Butterfly has a very anatomically correct form combined with a broader bearing surface in the area of the tongue. This offers the tongue optimal space with a very soft influence at the same time.
